Characteristics

Erect open shrub to 4 m high. Young branchlets terete, densely hairy; hairs stellate. Leaves linear, 15–20 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide; apex obtuse to acute; abaxial surface densely hairy with ± sessile, white stellate hairs c. 0.5 mm across. Flowers axillary, pedicellate, solitary; pedicels 8–10 mm long (♂), 10–30 mm long (♀), sparsely stellate hairy. Male flowers: receptacle 0.8–1 mm across minutely hairy; stamens c. 50. Female flowers: calyx lobes suborbicular or broadly ovate, c. 1.5 mm long; ovary densely stellate-pubescent, 3-locular; stigma discoid. Mature fruit not seen.
