Characteristics

Erect shrub to 0.8 m high, resinous on most parts. Young branchlets ± angular, longitudinally grooved, glabrous. Leaves narrowly oblong to narrowly oblong-elliptic, 5–10 mm long, 1.6–2.5 mm wide; apex rounded or obtuse, ultimately with apiculum up to 0.5 mm long; abaxial surface densely hairy with ± sessile, stellate hairs up to 0.9 mm across. Flowers axillary, pedicellate, solitary; pedicels 2–6 mm long (♂), 5–9 mm long (♀), glabrous, papillose (usually obscured by resinous covering). Male flowers: receptacle c. 1.5 mm across, minutely hairy; stamens c. 20. Female flowers: calyx lobes somewhat accrescent, suborbicular to very broadly ovate, c. 2.5 mm long (c. 3 mm long in fruit); ovary glabrous, 3-locular; stigma discoid to calyptriform. Fruit subglobose, 4.5–5.5 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes c. half of fruit length.
