Characteristics

Spreading much-branched shrub to 1 m high, resinous on most parts. Young branchlets angular, glabrous. Leaves narrowly obovate, 7–20 mm long, 1.2–4 mm wide; apex rounded; abaxial surface papillose and densely hairy with ± sessile white hairs c. 0.01 mm long (obscured by resinous covering). Flowers pedicellate; males axillary, solitary; females axillary or terminal on short axillary branchlets, solitary; pedicels 4–7 mm long (♂), 1.5–4 mm long (♀), ± glabrous. Male flowers: receptacle 1–1.5 mm across, glabrous; stamens 25–40. Female flowers: calyx lobes ovate, 0.9–1.8 mm long; ovary glabrous or densely hairy distally, 2-locular; stigma calyptriform. Fruit ±ellipsoid, 4.5–8.5 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes c. one fifth of fruit length.
