Characteristics

Erect shrub to 1.5 m high, resinous on most parts, thickly so on young shoots and adaxial leaf surface. Young branchlets ± terete, longitudinally grooved, glabrous. Leaves narrowly oblong to linear, 13–20 mm long, 1.2–2.3 mm wide; apex rounded or obtuse, ultimately terminated by sessile gland; abaxial surface densely hairy with sessile, stellate hairs up to 0.05 mm across. Flowers axillary, pedicellate, solitary; pedicels 3–5 mm long (♂), 5–7 mm long (♀), ± glabrous except for minute erect glandular hairs proximally. Male flowers: receptacle 0.9–1.1 mm across, minutely hairy; stamens c. 25. Female flowers: calyx lobes oblong or narrowly ovate, c. 2.3 mm long; ovary glabrous, 3-locular; stigma discoid. Fruit ellipsoid, 5–5.5 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes c. one third of fruit length.
