Characteristics

Erect to spreading shrub to 2 m high, usually resinous on most parts. Young branchlets ± angular, mostly longitudinally grooved, glabrous. Leaves narrowly obovate or linear, 7–35 mm long, 0.8–2.2 mm wide; apex rounded, obtuse, acute to attenuate or truncate, ultimately with apiculum up to 0.3 mm long; abaxial surface glabrous and papillose or densely hairy with sessile stellate hairs up to 0.3 mm across. Flowers axillary, pedicellate, solitary or in 2-or 3-flowered fascicles; pedicels 0.8–3.5 mm long (♂), 0.7–7.5 (–9) mm long (♀), glabrous. Male flowers: receptacle c. 0.9 mm across, sparsely stellate hairy; stamens 7–11. Female flowers: calyx lobes broadly oblong or broadly obovate, 0.8–1.3 mm long; ovary glabrous, 2-or 3-locular; stigma calyptriform. Fruit obloid or broadly ovoid, 2.7–4.7 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes up to one third of fruit length.
