Characteristics

Twining, evergreen, perennial herb, up to 0.8 m high; covered with bulbous-based hairs, strongly scented. Leaves pinnately trifoliolate. Leaflets ovate; upper surface glabrescent; lower surface gland-dotted. Stipules ovate, striate. Inflorescences axillary, racemose, 6-10-flowered. Calyx 5-lobed, upper 2 lobes slightly connate. Petals yellow; standard obovate, reflexed; wings shorter than those of keel; keel obliquely obovate, apex dark purple. Flowering time Aug.-Jan. Pod cylindrical, gland-dotted, 4-6-seeded.
