Petals blue to violet or purple or rarely white; standard elliptic-obovate, reflexed above the claw; wings sculptured between the upper veins; keel oblong-falcate.
Pod shortly stipitate, narrowly oblong, flattened, indehiscent, compressed between the few slightly hardened seed chambers.
Calyx campanulate above a short hypanthium (receptacle); lateral lobes about as long as the tube, upper ones joined higher.
Seed oblong-reniform, with a small radicular lobe and small hilum; embryo with a short inflexed radicle.
Ovary very shortly stalked; style curved, tapered, glabrous above, with a small stigma.
Stamens 10, free or almost so; anthers dorsifixed.
