Characteristics

Erect shrub to 1 m high. Branches slightly quadrangular, stellate-tomentose. Stellate hairs with rays to 0.25 (–0.5) mm long. Leaves linear to narrowly elliptic, 10–33 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, attenuate at base, recurved to revolute, acute; abaxial surface with a sparse to moderately dense layer of multiangular stellate hairs and a dense layer of smaller planar stellate hairs. Peduncle to 0.5 mm long; pedicel 3–4 mm long. Sepals broadly ovate-deltate, 4.5–6 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, acute to slightly acuminate. Petals 8–15 mm long, (4.5–) 7–8 mm wide, pink, occasionally white; abaxial surface with moderately dense simple pubescence. Anther apiculum recurved. Style pilose. Cocci densely pilose (not seen at maturity).
