Characteristics

Erect shrub to 2 m high. Branches stellate-tomentose. Stellate hair rays (0.1–) 0.25–0.5 mm long. Leaves simple; petiole 2–4 mm long; lamina elliptic, 18–35 mm long, 3.5–10 mm wide, attenuate at base, acute; adaxial surface glabrous or with few hairs along midrib. Inflorescence  1 (–3)-flowered; peduncle 0.5–2 mm long; pedicel 2–7 mm long. Sepals 4.5–5.5 mm long,  2–2.5 mm wide, acuminate. Petals 7–8 mm long (–12 mm when in fruit), pink to white; adaxial surface glabrous or nearly so. Stamens: filaments pilose; anther apiculum large, erect or reflexed. Style hairy. Cocci glabrous or with a few scattered hairs.
