Characteristics

Erect shrub to 2.8 m high. Branches with sparse to dense stellate indumentum. Stellate hairs with rays to 0.25 mm long. Leaves simple; petiole 0.5–2 mm long; lamina elliptic to narrowly elliptic, 8–45 mm long, 1.5–5 mm wide, attenuate at base, obtuse, chartaceous (on drying); margins finely glandular-warty, flat to revolute (on drying); adaxial surface glabrous or nearly so, glandular-warty. Flowers solitary; peduncle c. 1 mm long; pedicel 4–6 mm long. Sepals ovate-deltate, 2–2.5 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, acute; abaxial surface stellate-tomentose. Petals 6–9 mm long, pink; abaxial surface with a moderate to dense stellate indumentum. Stamens: filaments pilose; anther apiculum absent or minute. Style glabrous. Cocci with a few scattered hairs.
