Erect shrubs to 1.5 m high; juvenile plants glabrous or with sparse to moderately dense stellate/simple indumentum on branches, leaves and abaxial surface of perianth; mature plants densely stellate-tomentose on branches, leaves and abaxial surface of perianth. Leaves petiolate or rarely subsessile, 11–27 (–35)-foliolate, 6–80 mm long, 5–50 mm wide; petiole 0.5–3 mm long; rachis segments 0.5–10 mm long; leaflets linear to narrowly elliptic, 4–26 mm long, 0.5–3 mm wide. Pedicel 4–10 mm long. Perianth white to pink to deep purple. Sepals ovate-deltate, (4–) 7–15 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, acute to acuminate. Petals 3–10 mm long.
