Characteristics

Erect shrub to 2 m high. Branches slightly quadrangular, stellate-tomentose. Stellate hairs with rays to 0.25–0.5 mm long. Leaves elliptic to obovate, 14–42 mm long, 2–6 mm wide, attenuate at base, flat or recurved (sometimes revolute on drying), obtuse; abaxial surface with a sparse to moderately dense layer of multiangular stellate hairs and a dense layer of smaller planar stellate hairs. Peduncle to 0.5 mm long; pedicel 1–5 mm long. Sepals broadly ovate-deltate, (3–) 4–6 mm long, (2–) 3–4 mm wide, acuminate to acute. Petals (6–) 8–10.5 mm long, (3.5–) 4.5–6 mm wide, pink to white; abaxial surface with a moderately dense simple indumentum. Anther apiculum absent or minute. Style glabrous. Fruit not seen.
