Shrub or small tree 1.8–6 m. tall with spreading twiggy branches; youngest shoots with spreading white pubescence, the older whitish grey, strongly wrinkled, glabrescent, lenticellate, roughened with raised petiole-scars.. Leaf-blades brittle, oblong-elliptic to obovate-oblong, 0.5–5 cm. long, 0.3–3 cm. wide, rounded to emarginate at the apex, rounded, truncate, subcordate or ± cuneate at the base, coriaceous, the margins revolute, ± rugose or bullate with venation impressed above, discolorous, very rough above with tubercle-based stiff short white hairs and with some fine white pubescence above, glabrous beneath or with a few to ± dense white hairs on the venation.. Cymes terminating the short shoots, short, ± few-flowered, with dense gland-tipped pale ferruginous pubescence on the axes; peduncles and secondary peduncles 0.5–2 cm. long; pedicels 2–6 mm. long.. Calyx ± 7 mm. wide, deeply lobed, the lobes triangular or triangular-ovate, 2–3 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, pubescent outside like the axes.. Corolla greenish yellow, campanulate; tube 3–4 mm. long; lobes ovate, 2.5–3 mm. long and wide.. Anthers just exserted.. Style 2 mm. long, very shortly bifid, the stigmas capitate..
