Characteristics

A medium-sized epiphytic or rarely lithophytic herb, with a creeping rhizome 1.5–2 mm. diameter.. Pseudobulbs 2-leaved, ovoid to narrowly conical, ridged, 2.7–4 cm. long, 0.7–1.3 cm. diameter, 1–3.7 cm. apart on rhizome.. Leaves coriaceous, suberect, linear-elliptic, rounded, 4–10 cm. long, 0.5–1 cm. broad.. Inflorescence up to 16 cm. long, many-flowered; peduncle ± covered by up to 12 chartaceous acute sheaths; rhachis angled, up to 8 cm. long; bracts distichous, spreading, chartaceous, lanceolate, acuminate or acute, 6–13 mm. long, reddish or yellow.. Flowers yellow to rose with a yellow or orange lip.. Dorsal sepal ovate, acute or shortly acuminate, 5.5–6.6 mm. long, 3.4–4.5 mm. broad; lateral sepals oblique, ovate, acuminate, 6–7 mm. long, 2.3–3.1 mm. broad.. Petals orbicular, ± shortly clawed, ± shortly apiculate, 1.7–2.8 mm. long, 1.4–2.4 mm. broad.. Lip very fleshy, obscurely 3-lobed in basal half, 2 mm. long, 1.6–1.7 mm. broad; side lobes suberect rounded; mid-lobe oblong, obtuse, slightly apically recurved..
