Characteristics

Plants usually forming small, dense clumps. Pseudobulbs crowded, 7–12 × 6–8 mm, pale green or yellowish, deeply ribbed with wrinkled ridges. Leaves ovate, 15–30 × 7–10 mm, thin-textured but tough, pale green or yellowish. Racemes arching to pendulous, bluish green, with numerous conspicuous, bluish green bracts, 50–100 mm long, 5–25-flowered. Flowers crowded, 3–4 × 6–8 mm, cream or yellowish, densely blotched and suffused with purple or red-brown, labellum pink, red, purple or yellow. Sepals and petals spreading widely. Dorsal sepal hooded, 3–4 × 2–2.5 mm. Lateral sepals divergent, 3–4 × 2.5–3 mm. Petals c. 2 × 0.8 mm. Labellum c. 2 × 1 mm, very thick, fleshy, base channelled.
