Characteristics

Plants epiphytic, with short rhizomes 1.5 mm in diameter; pseudobulbs clustered, spheroidal to occasionally flattened, 10-15 mm in diameter; leaves 2 per pseudobulb, fleshy, stiff, rounded and emarginate, 40-50 x 10-15 mm. Inflorescences arcuate-pendulous, spicate with 15-50 flowers; peduncle slender, sheaths lax, 4 mm long, acute; rhachis fleshy, terete; bracts like sheaths but c. 3 mm long. Flowers fleshy, papillose on the outside, not opening fully, deep purple-red or greenish. Sepals subequal, acute to subacuminate, lanceolate, median somewhat shorter and wider than laterals, 4.6 x 1.6 mm. Petals linear, tapering to a fine point, 2 x 0.2 mm. Lip fleshy, oblong, rounded, 2 x 1 mm, long-ciliate, with 2 bulbous fleshy ridges below.

Epiphyte. Pseudobulbs close together. Rhachis cylindrical, bearing flowers in 3 ranks. Flowers 4-6 mm in diameter. Flowers yellowish green with numerous small purplish warts.
Inflorescence pendulous, 4–15 cm long; peduncle ± equal to the rhachis in length, with several papery sheaths; rhachis fleshy, swollen, densely several-to many-flowered.
Pseudobulbs set close together (0.5–1.5 cm apart), forming clumps, 2-leaved, 15–25 × 18–25 mm, orbicular to ovoid, squat, green to reddish.

Leaves fleshy, spreading, 25–40 × 10–22 mm, elliptic, rounded at apex, dark green, sometimes tinged with purple.
Column 1.5–2.2 mm long, including falcate stelidia 0.6–1 mm long; anther cap with V-shaped ridge on the apex.
Flowers fleshy, papillose on outside, red-purple, or green heavily blotched with purple.
Lip 2 × 1 mm, tongue-like, fleshy, recurved, the margins long-ciliate.
Small epiphytic herb; rhizome creeping, c. 2 mm in diameter.
Pollinia 4, 2 much smaller than the others.
