Clumps pendulous, tangled, stems attached by roots from basal nodes. Stems freely branched, 100–200 mm long, covered with prominent purple-brown bracts. Roots arising from any node. Pseudobulbs 4–6 × 1.5 mm, covered by bracts. Leaves on stalks 2–3 mm long, 15–30 × 3–4 mm, dark green, fleshy, narrowly grooved. Flowers usually single; stems 3–5 mm long; flowers 5–6 × 4–5 mm, cream to white with orange or yellow tips. Sepals and petals fleshy, not spreading widely. Sepals 5–6 × 1.5 mm. Petals c. 2 × 0.5 mm. Labellum fleshy, c. 1 × 0.7 mm, recurved at right angles near middle, blunt.
Locally common; growing at moderate to high altitudes on mossy trunks and branches of trees in rainforest where there is strong air movement, particularly ridgetops; also colonising relict trees left in paddocks.
