Characteristics

Pseudobulbs set close together on the rhizome, 1-leafed, up to 30 × 15 mm, ovoid, slightly flattened, sometimes obscurely angled, dark maroon-red or greenish-brown, the surface pitted like orange peel.

Flowers white, the sepals sometimes purple or orange-vermilion at the tips, the lip white or yellow; sometimes with a strong fruity scent, sometimes scentless.
Inflorescence arching or pendent; peduncle c. 5 cm long, rhachis 12–20 cm long, fairly densely many-flowered, the flowers ± secund, not opening widely.
Dorsal sepal 5–7 × 1–2 mm, narrowly triangular, acute, lateral sepals slightly larger and broader.
