Characteristics

Plants form dense, crowded clumps. Pseudobulbs crowded, somewhat flattened, 1–2 × 1 mm, dark green. Leaves 5–25 × 2–4 mm, thick, fleshy, dark green, deeply channelled. Racemes thread-like, 12–40 mm long. Flowers 8–12 × 8–12 mm, dark red to purplish red or claret-red, rarely pink, green or white. Sepals and petals spreading widely, sometimes recurved. Dorsal sepal 4–6 × 1.5–2 mm. Fused lateral sepals 4–6 × 2.5–3.5 mm. Petals 4.5–7 × 1.5–2 mm. Labellum narrowly oblong to narrowly obovate, 4–6 × 0.6–0.8 mm; margins with long, fine hairs, those on narrow basal part gland-tipped.
