Characteristics

Plants forming dense, compact clumps. Roots arising from base of pseudobulbs. Pseudobulbs crowded, 12–20 × 7–9 mm, dark green, flask-shaped with narrow, extended neck, covered with soft, woolly bracts when young. Leaves on stalks 20–30 mm long, 70–130 × 15–20 mm, fleshy, shiny, dark green. Flower stems thread-like, 50–70 mm long, apex curved sharply, 1-flowered. Flowers nodding, 8–10 × 10–12 mm, cream or pale green with a few red spots and a pink to red labellum. Sepals and petals not spreading widely. Dorsal sepal 6–8 × 3–4 mm. Lateral sepals 8–10 × 4–5 mm, with irregular lines of red spots. Petals c. 2 × 0.8 mm, with purple apical spot. Labellum oblong, c. 3 × 1.5 mm, shallowly curved, fleshy, base deeply grooved.
