Plants form large spreading clumps. Stems closely appressed to host, branching freely, with roots from most nodes. Pseudobulbs well-spaced, ovoid, 2–3 × 4 mm, somewhat flattened, yellow-green to dark green, naked. Leaves sessile, 20–40 × 6–8 mm, fleshy, deeply and broadly grooved, pale green to dark green. Flowers single; stems 5–9 mm long, arising along rhizomes; flowers 4–5 × 2–3 mm, not opening widely, white to cream with yellowish tips. Sepals and petals fleshy. Dorsal sepal 4–5 × 1.5–2 mm. Lateral sepals 4–5 × 1.5–2 mm. Petals c. 2 × 1.5 mm. Labellum c. 2 × 1 mm, orange to reddish brown, sharply bent near middle, margins glabrous.
Widespread and common, often forming extensive patches; grows on trees, shrubs and rocks in rainforest close to permanent streams, particularly in sheltered gorges; occurs less commonly in moist, humid areas of open forest.
