Leaf turgid at flowering time, 20–30 × 5–7 mm, ovate, both surfaces dark red. Flower stem 80–140 mm, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 15–20 × 8–10 mm, yellowish green with reddish suffusions, labellum greenish red with black calli. Dorsal sepal 7–10 × 1.5–2 mm. Lateral sepals 7–10 × 1–1.5 mm, kinked towards apex. Petals 7–10 × 0.5 mm. Labellum obliquely erect when set (often set at steep angle); labellum strap 4–6 × 2–3 mm; labellum lamina flat when viewed from side, broadly flask-shaped from above, 8–10 × 4–4.5 mm, widest above base then tapered, apical fifth a short, blunt neck covered with shiny black calli; basal lobe blunt, projected back in same plane as labellum. Column 8–10 mm long.
Highly localised; growing among shrubs, sedges and spinifex clumps in seasonally moist, sandy soil in shrubland. Often found in the middle of sedges and spinifex clumps.
