Characteristics

Shrubs; branchlets, petioles, and inflorescences densely yellow-brown dendritic velvety. Petiole 2-3 cm; leaf blade elliptic, 12-22 X 5-7 cm, unevenly stellate tomentose and yellow glandular, adaxially glabrescent, base cuneate, margin serrulate, apex acuminate. Cymes 4-6 cm across; peduncle 1-1.5 cm. Pedicel ca. 1 mm. Calyx campanulate, prominently 4-dentate, sparsely stellate tomentose to glabrous. Corolla purple, ca. 2.5 mm; lobes 4, usually puberulent. Filaments ca. 3.5 mm. Fruit yellow, ca. 1.2 mm in diam., glandular. Fl. and fr. Jul-Dec.
