Characteristics

Leaf fully developed at flowering, 250–350 × 12–18 mm, dark green, pruinose. Flower stem 400–700 mm tall, 4–12-flowered. Flowers lasting 2–5 days, 25–30 × 15–20 mm, greenish with bold red stripes; labellum with reddish or purple glandular and eglandular papillae. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 12–14 × 8–10 mm, shallowly concave. Lateral sepals divergent, 12–14 × 5–5.5 mm, hidden behind labellum papillae. Petals ovate, 8–9 × 5–5.5 mm, porrect to incurved. Labellum flat in profile, 25–30 × 9–11 mm, broadly obovate near base then suddenly tapered, ending in a long, narrow lobe; basal part with short, thick, red to purple papillae; central part with coarse, erect and spreading papillae to 8 mm long and a few brownish, glandular papillae; apical part with a glandular tail 16–18 × 4 mm, basal half of tail with scattered, brownish, glandular, ribbon-like papillae to 6 mm long; labellum margins with numerous crowded, linear, acuminate lobes to 6 mm long. Column 5–6 × 4 mm, pale green, with 2 dark purple-black sham eyes connected by a faint ridge.
