Characteristics

Leaf fully developed at flowering, 200–400 × 20–28 mm, dark green, not pruinose, strongly and deeply ribbed. Flower stem 400–950 mm tall, slightly pruinose, 3–15-flowered. Flowers lasting 3–5 days, 25–30 × 12–16 mm; sepals and petals greenish with red stripes; labellum with dark purple to bluish papillae. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 11–13 × 7–8 mm, hooding column. Lateral sepals divergent, 12–14 × 5–5.5 mm, apex acuminate. Petals porrect, 6–8 × 5–5.5 mm, lower inner surface papillate. Labellum flat in profile, 19–22 × 5–6 mm, ovate-lanceolate in outline, narrowed gradually in a drawn-out taper; basal part with short, thick, purple papillae; central part with coarse papillae to 8 mm long; apex a densely glandular tail 4–6 × 1.5 mm; labellum margins with numerous crowded, linear lobes to 6 mm long, most glandular. Column to 5.5 × 4 mm, with 2 purple sham eyes connected by a faint ridge.
