Calostephane divaricata Benth.

Erect branching herb to 1 m. Leaves up to 30 x 15 mm or sometimes larger, ovate or lanceolate, narrowed into a petiole-like base up to 20 mm long, then decurrent on the stem in long narrow wings, sparsely hairy, gland-dotted, margins coarsely toothed or subentire. Heads solitary at the tips of the branches. Involucre campanulate, c. 10 x 10 mm, bracts long-acuminate, bristle-tipped, pubescent, glandular. Rays and disc yellow. Achenes c. 2.5 mm long, subcylindric, ribbed, hairy, gland-dotted. Pappus of 5 very small hyaline scales alternating with an inner series of short bristles with relatively broad hyaline margins.
