Semi-succulent or semi-woody herb up to 1 m. high, erect or semi-procumbent, sometimes epiphytic; branches scurfy and inconspicuously glandular-pubescent, glabrescent.. Leaf-lamina elliptic, ovate or ovate-oblong, 2–7 cm. long, 1.5–4.5 cm. wide, apex acute, base cuneate to shortly attenuate, rarely rounded, margins slightly sinuate, serrate or dentate, ciliate; sparsely and inconspicuously glandular-puberulous on both surfaces, soon glabrous; midrib and 2 pairs of basal longitudinal nerves scarcely visible above, subprominent beneath, scurfy; petiole 1–5 cm. long..
