Origin: by controlled cross (Stuart? × Nugget) made at New Mexico State Univ. Agr. Expt. Sta., Albuquerque. (Sullivan has bd genotype for malate dehydrogenase, as does Nugget, while Stuart is ac). Tested as N2-G. Introd. in 1983. Nut: oblong, with acute apex and base, round in cross section; 65 nuts/lb, 55% kernel; kernels with very tight, deep dorsal grooves beside straight, projecting dorsal ridge; shallow basal cleft.
