Characteristics

Frutex ?; ramuli hornotini brunnei pilosi. Folia obovato-oblonga, basi cuneata, apice obtusa, leviter acuminata, 2.5-4 cm longa, 1.25-2 cm lata, dentata vel subintegra, rigida, glabra nervis leviter pilosis exceptis; nervi laterales prope marginem conjuncti; petioli 4 mm longi; stipulae ovato-lanceolatae, 3 mm longae, extra pilosae. Flores solitarii; pedicelli 5 mm longi, apice usque ad medium articulati, pilosi; bracteae minimae. Calyx profunde 5-lobatus, extra tenuiter canescens, intra glaber; lobi lanceolati, 5 mm longi, 1-2 mm lati. Petala lanceolata, apice laciniata, glabra. Stamina circiter 20, in disco inserta. Ovarium triloculare, dense albo-sericeum; stylus glaber, circiter 4 mm longus. Fructus tenuiter pubescens, globosus.

Leaves obovate to oblong, < 40 mm long, glossy dark green, hairless, midrib and lateral veins translucent-green, conspicuous on undersurface, base tapering, apex broadly tapering to rounded, notched, asymmetric, margins widely toothed; petioles 2-4 mm long. Flowers white to cream-coloured, solitary on short stalks, up to 5 mm long, inconspicuous. Flowering time Oct.-Dec. Fruit a capsule, ± 10 x 6 mm, sharply tipped with remains of old style and with persistent sepals around base. Seeds arillate.
