Corolla campanulate, slightly bilabiate with 5(6–7) patent lobes; tube cylindrical, rather long Stamens as many as the corolla lobes, adnate to the corolla tube, perfectly exerted.

Capsule elliptic, thick woody walled, rather flattened parallel to the septum, dehiscing along the flat faces; valves warty, tomentose-greyish and at the end dark brown.
Flowers solitary or fascicled, axillary more or less dense in the uppermost part of the branches.
Ovary bilocular, ovoid surrounded by a cupular disk; ovules few, biseriate in each locule.
Calyx tubiform, shortly splitting at one side with 5(6) filiform lobes.
Anther-thecae connate in the upper part, free and parallel below.
Erect spiny shrub or small tree with dense grey woolly hairs.
