Calyx tomentose; tube in male/hermaphrodite flowers c. 2 mm long; tube in female/hermaphrodite flowers 3 mm long; limb-tube c. 3 mm long: in male/hermaphrodite flowers wider than the tube, ± abruptly widening: in female/hermaphrodite flowers gradually widening; lobes often apiculate to shortly acuminate at apex, separated by narrow or wide sinuses, sometimes with a rudimentary lobe in the sinus; calyx lobes in male/hermaphrodite flowers 5 or more, often unequal, 2–6 mm long, oblong, or oblong-spathulate, 1–2(3)-nerved; calyx lobes in female/hermaphrodite flowers 5, 4–5 mm long, obovate to circular, often clawed at base, 3-nerved.
Leaves immature at time of flowering; blades4.2–10 × 2–4.8 cm, obovate or sometimes narrowly obovate, the apex rounded and often emarginate, obtuse, mostly very attenuate to the base, sparsely pubescent to pubescent above, pubescent to densely pubescent below (sparsely pubescent below in Torre & Paiva 9741 (LISC)) with tomentose nerves beneath;lateral nerves in 4–6(7) main pairs, often impressed above; tertiary nerves obscure or apparent; domatia inconspicuous;petiole 2–7(10) mm long, only gradually distinct from leaf base, pubescent to tomentose; stipules on young stems 4–7 mm long, triangular, apiculate.
Inflorescence stalks densely pubescent, bracts and bractlets filiform, rudimentary or absent: male/hermaphrodite inflorescences 2–8-flowered, slender, peduncle reduced or absent, inflorescence branches reduced, pedicels 2–14 mm long: female/hermaphrodite inflorescences 1-or 2–3-flowered, branches absent or 3–8 mm long, pedicels (2)5 mm long, slender or not.
Corolla white turning yellow, densely silky outside, the hairs on the upper part of the tube much longer than those on the lobes; tube shortly exceeding the calyx limb-tube; lobes 5–7 mm long, broadly obovate, or ± round, finely pubescent at least near the margins or at the very margins inside.
Fruits 2–2.8 × 1.5–1.8 cm, ellipsoid or oblong-ellipsoid (but immature ones can be broadly ellipsoid), wrinkled, slightlyribbed, pubescent;calyx limb persistent with lobes 6–10 mm long;stalk 1.5–1.7 cm long.
Flowers male, female and/or hermaphrodite, terminal or subterminal on brachyblasts.
Anthers c. 2 mm long; pollen presenter c. 2 mm long, not or scarcely exserted.
