Characteristics

Dioicous, yellowish brown, on hark. Stem to 2 cm long, 100 µ in diameter, cortical cells 30 x 40 µ, walls of medium thickness. Leaves approximate-imbricate, ovate-ligulate, convex, entire, dorsal margin rounded, apex triangularly subacute, ventral margin slightly S-formed, lobule small, triangular, inflated, without distinct limit excurrent in the lower margin of the lobe. Marginal cells 14-18 µ, inner cells to 20 x 30 µ walls thin, trigones distinct. Amphigastria subcircular-obovate, apex rounded-roundedly truncate, margins slightly decurrent, insertion line arched, the rhizoids arise from a disciform area. Perianth (according to Sim) with one innovation, compressed, margins ciliate-spinose.
