Characteristics

Aerial stem-parasitic shrubs (haustorial structure unknown). Leaves opposite. Inflorescencess axillary, a simple 2-flowered umbel, rarely produced into a 4-flowered raceme or spike of decussate pairs; bracts solitary under each flower. Corolla 6-merous, chori-petalous, regular. Stamens slightly unequal in length; anthers dorsifixed, versatile. Style simple, with a knob-like stigma. Fruit nearly globular. Fig. 15.
