Trailing, perennial herb, up to 0.15 m high,-like C. glabrata, but smaller, tufted, much-branched and with smaller leaves. Stems usually hairy, with equal branches. Leaves clustered, petiolate; blades narrowly ovate or narrowly elliptic, 3-veined, 15-20 x 3-7 mm, apex acute, thinly ciliate, not coriaceous, base cuneate; petioles 10-20 mm long, thinly hairy. Flowering time Sept.-Jan. Fruit 4-6 x 3.5-4.0 mm, 1.5-2.0 x as long as bracts, ray 5.0-12.5 mm long; bracts acute, ciliate.
