Leaf-blades oblanceolate to elliptic-or ovate-oblanceolate, 4–15.5 cm. long, 1.4–5(–7) cm. wide, distinctly narrowly acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, thin, slightly discolorous, glabrous, the margins often slightly wavy; petiole 0.8–4 cm. long; stipules triangular, 3–4 mm. long with 2 apical colleter-tipped filiform lobes 1 mm. long; older stipules often corky, persistent.. Flowers scented, in mostly trichotomously branched panicles, each ultimate branchlet 3-several-flowered; peduncles 0.7–2 cm. long, mostly purplish; secondary peduncles 0.3–2 cm. long; pedicels obsolete or up to ± 1 mm. long; bracts small, ciliate.. Calyx-tube mostly magenta pink, oblong, 1–1.8 mm. long, ribbed; limb-tube 0.7–1.2 mm. long; lobes triangular to lanceolate, 0.5–3.5 mm. long, if longer then often recurved at the tips..
