Erect woody, glabrous shrub to c. 30 cm high in flower. Adult leaves clustering, sessile, linear, 18–30 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, mucronate, margin incurving. Inflorescences are bracteose, paniculate to third degree branching, multi-flowered; flower parts in fives, zygomorhic. Sepals elliptic and oblong in the same flower, 2.5–3 mm long, unequal, margins ciliate. Petals slightly obovate, 8–10 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, sinuate. Stamens cohering at the shoulders before the triangular apices, dehiscing through apical slits being pulled to act like pores; filaments to 2.5 mm long, basally flared, white, blotched blue at apices, shorter than anthers; anthers 3–3.5 mm long, pale yellow, not gold. Pistil with no visible basal nectary, receptacle wider than ovary base; bilocular, placentation axile, cylindrical, hairless, green-purple; style elongated, curving, stigmatic development minimal even in female phase. Mature fruit and seeds not seen but seed are clearly arillate.
