Chrysophyllum inornatum Mart.

An evergreen tree. It grows 5-12 m high. The crown is dense and very branched. The trunk is short and grooved. It is 25-45 cm across. The leaves are spaced and alternate. Leaves are oval and 4-11 cm long by 2-6 cm wide. The flowers occur singly or in groups of 2-4 in the axils of leaves. The fruit is oval with a fleshy pulp.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in humid forests near the Atlantic and on coastal plains.

Plants are grown from seeds. Seeds are collected from ripe fruit and the fruit are partly decomposed in a plastic bag to allow the seeds to be washed out in running water. The seeds need to be planted fresh. Seedlings emerge in 70-80 days/
