Characteristics

Frutex erectus vel prostratus, 0,5-2 m altus. Rami novelli subflaccidi nonnunquam subvolubiles, adulti robusti duri, pilosuli vel glabri, laeves stramineopallidi sulcati, ramuli ultimi saepe valde abbreviati ± tomentosi. Folia parva nonnunquamnonnisi in ramulis abbreviatis orta conferta; petiolus circ. 0.5-1 cm longus laminae palato-insertus; lamina plerumque fere glabra, glauca subtus pallidior, rarius ± pilosa, triangulari-ovata vel latior fere suborbicularis, 1-3 cm longa, 1-2.5 cm lata, nervi Primarii vix prominentes cum secundariis nervulisque reticulum colore saturatiore utrinque conspicuum efficientes. Cymae männliche [as male symbol] solitariae vel paucae axillares, divaricato-corymbosae, cum pedunculo saepe perbrevi 0.5-2.5 cm longae, haud multiflorae; sepala 4 carnosula extus albo-tomentella, late obovata, 1.5 mm longa, 1.2 mm lata, 2 nonnunquam angustiora; corolla cyathiformis 0.7 mm diamet.; synandrium 4-loculare. Flores weibliche [as female symbol] in axillis foliorum vel squamarum tomentosarum solitarii pedicellati; pedicelli 1-2 mm longi tomentelli; sepala 2 carnosa extus albo-tomentella anguste obovata, demum patula, exterius paulo longius, 1.5-2 mm longa 1-1.2 mm lata; petala 2 glabra, suborbicularia vel late obovata apice rotundata vel emarginata 1 mm longa, 0.8 mm lata; ovarium semiovoideum glabrum, stigma amplum lobulatum. Drupae ovoideae subcompressae 6-8 mm longae, 4-6 mm lalae, aurantiacae; endocarpium utrinque fasciis 3 minute verrucosis ornatum.
