Climber 1.8–6 m. long; stems cylindrical, 1–2 mm. diameter, sparsely to densely pilose with ± ferruginous medifixed hairs, the hairs straight or angled like a V; tendrils few, bifid, glabrous to sparsely pilose.. Leaves simple, elliptic to oblong, distinctly more elongate than in previous species, 5–15 cm. long, 2–5 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, rounded to truncate at the base, dentate with fine narrow teeth, prolongations of the lateral nerves, densely pilose when very young but hairs restricted to nerves or glabrescent when adult; petiole 0.3–1.5 cm. long, grooved, pilose; stipules oblong-lanceolate, 2.5–6 mm. long, 0.7–1.5 mm. wide, rounded at apex, thin, glabrous except for the shortly ciliate margins.. Inflorescences short compound cymes of umbel-like cymules, 1–2.5 cm. long, ± few-flowered; peduncles 1–1.5(–10) mm. long, the axes 3–10 mm. long; pedicels 1.5–2.5 mm. long, glabrous; all other axes ± densely pilose; bracts and bracteoles ± triangular, 0.3–1.5 mm. long, ciliate.. Calyx cupular, 1 mm. tall.. Buds ovoid, 2–3 mm. long, glabrous.. Petals orange-yellow to dark brown or greenish brown, ± triangular, 1.5–2 mm. long, glabrous.. Fruits crimson to red-purple, obpyriform or ± globular, sometimes slightly curved at base, 6–8 mm. long and wide, glabrous.. Seed ovoid-reniform, 6 mm. long, 5 mm. wide, 4 mm. thick, the basal projection short; median keel thick and well marked but sides without raised ridges and surface smooth.
