Leaves elliptic, oblong-elliptic or ovate–oblong, 4–11 (–16) cm. long, 2–6.5(– 8.5) cm. wide, shortly to distinctly acuminate at the apex and acute at extreme tip, very broadly cuneate at the base, margins acutely ± distantly antrorsely denticulate with the teeth narrow, or sometimes with larger spreading teeth, 3–5-nerved at base of lamina, reticulately venose and glabrous above, usually with pubescent domatia in nerve-axils beneath; petiole slender, 0.8–4 cm. long, shiny; stipules ovate, 2.5–3 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, thin, glabrous but erose at margin, deciduous.. Cymes leaf-opposed, 3.5–5 cm. long and wide, each umbelliform element 3–5-flowered; peduncles 1.5–2.2 cm. long; pedicels slender, 2–4 mm. long, becoming 6(–?10) mm. in fruit; bracts and bracteoles triangular, 1.5 mm. long, 1 mm. wide..
