Leaves simple; petiole up to 3 cm. long, with pubescence as on stems; leaf-lamina up to 8·5 × 8·5 cm., very broadly oblong to circular, apiculate at the apex, margin serrate, subcordate at the base, pubescent above and below, with the hairs beneath ± confined to the veins, with scattered shining black medifixed hairs on both surfaces but especially beneath; basal nerves 3–5; secondary nerves in 4–5 pairs; stipules triangular with pubescence as on stems.
Cymes trichotomously branched; peduncle 4·5 cm. long, indumentum as for stems; pedicels up to 5 mm. long, thickening and lengthening to 10 mm. in fruit, densely covered with shining black caducous medifixed hairs; bracts and bracteoles up to 1·5 mm. long, pubescent.
Flower-bud up to 2 mm. long, pubescent with white hairs in lower 1/3 and very densely covered with shining black medifixed hairs in upper 2/3.
A vine. It is an erect herb or a climber. It keeps growing from year to year. It can grow 1 m high. It has a woody rootstock.
