Cultivation

Origin: in Cuba. Imported into the U.S. in 1923 and in 1930 as P.I. 84565 by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture; more closely related to lemon or citron than to shaddock. Tree: large; upright; vigorous; productive; foliage dense. Fruit: large to very large, 3 7/8 to 6 7/8 inches in diam. and length; rind rough, lemon-yellow to light orange-yellow, not nippled, to 1 1/4 inches thick, tender, sweet, oil glands medium in size and number, oil content low; inner rind thick, white, spongy; pulp light greenish-yellow, sour; seeds numerous, small.
