Characteristics

Frutex 1-1.5(-2) m altus. Rami erecto-patentes, cortice ferrugineo-rubi-ginoso glabro vel minutissime piloso; ramuli abbreviati 1-2 cm longi. Folia simplicia; vagina 1-2 mm longa amplectens fusca glabra vel pilosula, stipulis triangularibus ad 1 mm longis; lamina 2-3 cm longa 4-6 mm lata cuneata, apice truncato 3-6-triangulari-dentato, margine interdum sub apice 3-4-denticulato ceterum integro, glabra opaca supra viridis subtus glaucescenti-viridis. Flores [male] sessiles; bracteolae 6-7 mm longae amplectentes acutae glabrae vel nervo mediano pilosulae; sepala 3, 8-9 mm longa 6 mm lata obovata mucronulata, basibus ad 0.5 mm connatis, hepatica obscure nervosa glabra; stamina 25-30, antheris c. 1.2 mm, filamentis 12-15 mm longis. Flores [female] sessiles; bracteolae 8-10 mm longae ovatae cochleariformes amplectentes acutae scariosae glabrae; receptaculum c. 7 mm longum 4 mm crassum ovoideum c. 15-sulcatum fuscum glabrum nitidulum; sepala in fructificatione persistentia 4-5 mm longa c. 3 mm lata ovata acuta, nervo mediano debili, glabra; stigma valde ramosum fuscum; achenium c. 5.5 mm longum ovoideo-oblongum.
