Characteristics

Frutex ramosus. Rami cortice ferrugineo-rufescente glabro saepe nitidulo praediti; ramuli abbreviati 1-2 cm longi vel ad 10 cm elongati dense foliati et vaginis foliorum inclusi. Folia simplicia; vagina amplectens, marginibus connatis, 2-2.5 mm longa coriacea, marginibus scariosis, breviter albo-ciliata ceterum glabra; stipulae 3-4 mm longae anguste triangulares acuminatae breviter albo-ciliatae vel prope glabrae; lamina 12-16 mm longa 6-10 mm lata ovata-obovata pungenti-mucronata integerrima vel interdum utroque latere sub apice dente parvo praedita coriacea glabra, nervis subtus prominentibus. Flores [male] sessiles; bracteolae 3-4 mm longae ferrugineae scariosae acuminatae; sepala 3 ovata c. 5 mm longa acuta glabra; stamina numerosa (c. 50), antheris 1-1.5 mm, filamentis 4-5 mm longis. Flores [female] sessiles; bracteolae 5-7 mm longae ceterum ut in [male]; receptaculum 5-6 mm longum c. 2.5 mm crassum ovoideum-oblongo-ovoideum costatum glabrum; sepala 3 ovata 2.5-3 mm longa acuminata; stigma ad 4 mm e receptaculo prominens rubiginosum; achenium c. 4 mm longum oblongum.
