Characteristics

Frutex 1-1.5 m altus. Rami et ramuli ferruginei-fusci, cortice canescenti-tomentoso-villoso. Folia simplicia; vagina amplectens 1-3 mm longa canescenti-villosa-glabrescens scariosa, stipulis triangularibus-lanceolato-triangularibus 4-7 mm longis acutis; lamina petiolo 2-10 mm longo praedita 3-6 cm longa 2-5 cm lata ovata basi cordata margine acute vel obtuse serrata-crenato-serrata foliacea supra pilosa vel prope glabra subtus praecipue nervis dense cano-pilosa interdum longe argenteo-sericea. Flores in axillis foliorum dense fasciculati; flores [male] c. 1 mm pedicellati; bracteolae ovato-triangulares 3-3.5 longae acutae scariosae extus pilosae ciliatae; sepala 3 c. 5 mm longa 2.5 mm lata oblongo-lanceolata acuta extus dense cano-pilosa; stamina 15-20, antheris 0.7-1 mm, filamentis 6-8 mm longis. Flores [female] brevissime pedicellati; bracteolae c. 5 mm longae ceterum ut in [male]; receptaculum ovoideum 2.5 mm longum 1.5 mm crassum laeve glabrum; sepala c. 1.5 mm longa lanceolata extus canescenti-pilosa.

Leaves simple, alternate, stipulate, shortly petiolate, 30-60 x 20-50 mm, toothed. Stipules triangular, 4-7 mm long, faintly aromatic, glabrous dark green above, densely pubescent, grey-green on lower surface, leathery.
