Frutex ad 3 m altus ramosus, ramis plerumque erecto-patentibus. Rami et ramuli cinerei-fusci-rubiginosi glabri opaci vel nitiduli. Folia simplica; vagina 3-8 mm longa amplectens scariosa, stipulis 2-4 mm longis anguste triangularibus glabris vel ciliatis; lamina 1-5 cm longa, 1-3(-5) mm lata lineari-lanceolata acuta ciliolata vel saepissime glabra, marginibus integerrimis vel minutissime denti-culatis raro dentato-serratis. Flores [male] sessiles saepe rudimento pistilli instructi, bracteolae c. 3 mm longae amplectentes scariosae subcarinatae acutae nervo mediano breviter pilosulae; sepala 3, 4-6 mm longa 2-2.5 mm lata oblongo-lanceolata acuta glabra obscure nervosa; stamina 15-20, antheris 0.7-0.8 mm, filamentis 3.5-4 mm longis. Flores [female] sessiles; bracteolae 4-4.5 mm longae lineares acutae extus parce pilosae; receptaculum c. 1.5 mm longum 0.5 mm crassum subcylindricum, apertura apicis lata, obscure nervosum glabrum; sepala 3 lanceolata 3.5-4 mm longa acuta erecta viridia-fusco-viridia glabra; stigma sepala hand superans ramosum.
