Shrub or tree, mostly epiphytic; twigs stout, drying reddish, angled. Leaves obovate to elliptical, 10-20 cm long, 5-10 cm wide, apically rounded, basally narrowed, the costa plane above, conspicuous and thick beneath, the lateral veins arcuate, ascending, distant, chartaceous, drying discolorous, slatey above, red-dish brown beneath; petioles distinct, stout, 1-2 cm long, narrowly winged. In-florescences terminal cymose panicles, peduncles stout, angled, drying somewhat reddish, 1.55 cm long; bracts wanting; bracteoles obsolete. Flowers (Standley) with sepals 4, decussate, narrow, the outermost broadly ovate or rotund, 8 mm long and wide, apically rotund, the inner pair 10-11 mm long, 5-7 mm wide, oval, apically rounded; petals 4, subequal, oblong ovate, ca. 2 mm long, 7 mm wide, apically rounded, thin, the receptacle 2.5 mm long, stipitate, 2 mm thick; stamens ca. 100, anthers oblong, 1.5 mm long, apically rotund, the filaments free, the anthers subequal, thick, glabrous. Fruit unknown.
