Leaves crowded towards the tips of the branches, imbricate; blades 0.8–2.2 × 0.4–1 cm, oblanceolate-oblong, rounded to emarginate at the apex, rounded to very shallowly cordate at the base, chartaceous to subcoriaceous, pellucid-punctate and pusticulate; margin entire and cartilaginous; lateral nerves in c. 3 pairs, ascending, indistinct.
Fruits solitary on pedicels 2–5 mm long in axils below the male flowers; fruiting sepals 2.5 × 1 mm, otherwise as in the male; petals 2 × 1 mm, oblanceolate, eglandular.
Branches usually simple, longitudinally ridged, sparingly pubescent in the furrows, otherwise glabrous; leaf scars prominent on stem and branches.
Seeds 3.5 × 2 × 1.5 mm, ellipsoid, smooth; caruncle 0.5 × 1 mm, yellowish-brown.
A shrub or woody herb up to 2 m high, sparingly branched, monoecious.
Male fascicles 2–3-flowered; bracts minute, chaffy, chestnut-brown.
Fruits 4 × 4.5 mm, pusticulate-verruculose, brownish.
Petioles 0.5–1 mm long, or leaves subsessile.
Female flowers not known.
Stipules absent.
