Perennial dwarf shrub or herb, 0.1-0.3 m high; fastigiately branched; twigs angular. Leaves petioled, firmly papery to subcoriaceous, ovate or suborbicular, base rounded or subcordate, apex obtuse, margins slightly recurved; faintly pellucid-punctate when young, not warted. Male flowers 1-3; pedicels up to 6.4 mm long, capillary, pubescent; sepals rounded, pubescent outside, obtuse, basal scale 4-or 5-lobate; petals rhomboid-orbicular, shortly clawed, glabrous, eglandular; rudimentary ovary cylindric, glabrous. Flowering time July.
