Characteristics

Perennial dwarf shrub, 0.2-0.5 m high; twigs pubescent. Leaves sessile, firmly membranous, lanceolate or linear, blunt, base narrowed, margins distinctly revolute; pubescent on both surfaces when young, then occasionally glabrescent. Male flowers 1-4; pedicels equal; sepals densely pubescent, narrow-obovate, basal scale 3-partite; petals narrow-obovate, glabrous, base 1-glandular; rudimentary ovary short, glabrous. Female flowers solitary; pedicels shorter than calyx; sepals lanceolate, obtuse, basal scale 3-5-partite; petals narrow-obovate, slightly hairy or glabrous, without basal scale; ovary densely pubescent; styles free, glabrous. Flowering time Dec. Fruit a subglobose capsule, densely pilose. Seeds brownish black and shining.
